I am always amazed when christians question where an atheist can get his morals from. They always seem to explicitly or implicitly suggest that you need the bible to tell you right and wrong. The picture below is one example out of many where you would not want to follow your bible...

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 (King James Version)
28If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
29Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
Difficult words:
Damsel = Young woman
Betrothed = Engaged

Really good banner!)
Bad news. Whomever put that up and you for showing that filth, will get a double punishment for their crimes against humanity. Did you have to show it? Nope - only to inflame the feelings of hatred toward God which has vastly diminished on this filthy planet of abortion and homoism. Did they have to put it up? Same thing. I suggest you take that down or I fear for your indelible soul. God bless you.
Thanks for the comments,
Kold... I just think you have to be honest about what kind of book the old testament really is. This is just one of hundreds of statements/rules/acts in the old testament that are in my opinion completely despicable. I don't understand people who take it literally and don't find Yahweh to be a despicable man/god.
I am sorry Rasmussenanders if my comments are three years late, but after reading your comments, I had to comment, because your inferences of the laws of Christendom is malicious and proves nothing, because those words weren’t spoke by God, but by the worldly leaders of the Jews. You are challenging the Jewish faith no the Christian faith. The Jews live by the Old Testament (OT), and Christendom by the New Testament (NT). Christendom use the OT so as to understand the prophesy of the Jewish Bible in regards to our Lord Jesus Christ, and for wisdom through the Psalms and Proverbs.
When our Lord Jesus Christ came, the Jewish people experienced love for their first time, and dwelled in His love for that short time of our Lord’s ministry. The NT was written from experiences and described the “WAY OF LIFE”, referred to as “THE WAY”. Our Lord Jesus Christ taught the Jewish people of HIS Teachings of love and forgiveness. The Bible you refer to is the Rules and Regulations for the Jews that is religious dogma written by the Pharisees of the Jewish religion over 3,000 years ago. The OT was their way of life through the eyes of their Priesthood, the Pharisees and their brutal way of life, as no doubt you are aware of the brutal slaying of our Messiah on the Cross.
The NT is the story of “THE WAY” to a new life of living in love, forgiveness, and humility; and has nothing to do with being a Jew, it’s all about being like our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, if you read the NT, then you will know that those simple practices are a good way of life.
The walk of a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ is a lesson in love, peace, joy, kindness, goodness, gentleness, patience, self-control and faithfulness. It has nothing to do about raping virgins or doing all those things that you have accused the Body of Christ of. A Christian life is a NT Life, not a Jewish OT life! The NT was written for Jewish converters who became Born Again, and for the Gentiles. Rasmussenanders, your facts of practices are inconceivable and with muck.
Thank you for the comment,
I was a bit surprised that a Christian person tries to distance him or herself from the old testament to to the extent you did
Do you think that the old testament is true? If you do then do you think that God's acts were wrong (can they be wrong in your opinion)?
Or do you think that the old testament is a lie and if so is that how most Christians think (not my impression)?
